BE AWARE of the following course requirements:

• attend each class meeting & take notes
  
  
• actively read assignments (25pgs/1hr) before class using primary source active worksheet
  
  
• participate in The Game, earning eXperience points each week (see Scorecard); the following might make up a sample unit:
  • homework/classwork assignments (e.g. reading notes, forum, minute essays)
  • quotes (quiz based upon primary source readings)
  • maps (quiz or project)
  • writing assignment (e.g. rough draft, peer edit, or final draft)
  • site visit or scavenger hunt (DC-points)
  contents vary, but each unit should have either quote or map quiz
  
  
• short writing assignments must conform to essay guidelines (see Writing Matters Statement)
